Photo — Hong Kong SevensRound 1 sold out, so we are running it back — this time Hong Kong first. Sevens Sunday, the Monster Building and the Peak, then north to Shanghai's neon, a fake Paris and a disaster simulator. Application only.
Check in from 4pm, then straight into it: a Hong Kong street-food tour from 6pm, and beers from 9 to get to know each other before the big one.
Overnight: Hong Kong
All day at the Hong Kong Sevens — finals Sunday. Fancy dress, world-class rugby, and the South Stand: the single biggest party in the sport. This is the day the whole trip is built around.
Overnight: Hong Kong
A recovery breakfast at 11, then the Monster Building and up Victoria Peak for the classic skyline. We close it out with another food tour — Hong Kong does not do quiet nights.
Overnight: Hong Kong
The early-afternoon flight north to a different China entirely. We check in and head straight to a Shanghai institution: a 24-hour spa (pyjamas provided, dignity optional).
Overnight: Shanghai
A visit to a legendary Shanghai tailor for anyone who wants a bespoke suit cut at Shanghai prices (optional, paid directly to the tailor), then shopping at the AP Plaza market. A food tour through the backstreets for dinner, and drinks on the Bund with the Pudong skyline across the water.
Overnight: Shanghai
Out to Hangzhou for China's first immersive disaster simulation centre — typhoon winds, torrential rain and a flooding car park, all run under instruction. Dinner is in Tianducheng, China's "fake Paris", under a 108m replica of the Eiffel Tower. Back to Shanghai late.
Overnight: Shanghai
Check out and goodbyes. Fly home from Shanghai, or stay on — we can point you in the right direction.
