A pre-tour meeting will be held at the lobby of the hotel at 8:00am to discuss the itinerary and meet your fellow travellers and Infamous guides.

We will then explore parts of the French Concession, moving through quiet streets and local spots that are easy to miss without guidance. Along the way, we’ll stop in at a selection of eateries to try a range of classic Shanghainese dishes, with insight from experienced native guides.

We’ll also visit a significant historical site connected to one of China’s most enduring patriotic figures, before spending time wandering through parts of Hangzhou’s old town and enjoying a traditional local dinner.

Day 4 – Hangzhou - Tianducheng - Suzhou

After breakfast, we will drive to the outskirts of Hangzhou to visit Tianducheng, often referred to as China’s “fake Paris.” With its replica Eiffel Tower as a centrepiece, the development offers an unusual perspective on how modern China negotiates global influence and identity.

After this, we’ll take China’s high-speed rail to Suzhou, travelling at up to 300kph. Known for its classical gardens, canals, and historical significance, Suzhou was once a major cultural centre of Chinese civilisation.

We’ll visit one of the city’s most famous classical gardens, where winding corridors, rockeries, and ponds reflect traditional design and philosophy.

In the evening, we’ll experience Suzhou’s waterways, taking in the atmosphere of the city as it transitions into night.
